I love the internet. Amazing things have come out of it. And my career is based off the internet.
What troubles me, is my reptile brains reaction to having unlimited choices. Unlimited content.
Looking at my past 2 hours browsing history is embarrassing. It goes something like this:
- looking up random people on Facebook.
- Checking out some stupid click-bait news that I got from Facebook.
- Somehow ended up at Youtube googling the SAAB car interior quality (and I just bought a car, don't need that info in any way...)
- Watching a movie about the game designer Cliffy B and how he is very arrogant.
Reptile brain has taken over completely. And it only goes south from here...
I really don't feel like I spent my two free hours on a Monday night very wisely.
In fact I should have been less on the internet, and done some other more rewarding stuff instead.
This mindless and almost addictive random websurfing has got to end!
So I will be aware of myself on the internet from now on. Watch myself surf, and if it gets too stupid, just press power off on my devices.
I can't control my relationship to the internet in a balanced way. Even if I really want to. This is the dark side of the internet + me.
